How Can weight Gain Along With Increase In Appetite Be Treated?

for the past two weeks I been having an increased appetite. why is that? I have GAINED 5LBS since past two weeks. Im thinking about dealing with this by ignoring this sensation and not eating to control my weight gain. I have been exercising vigorously with high-intensity zumba, tabata two to three times a week. Im still gaining weight anyways despite my physical activity. Getting up at least once in the evening to urinate between 4 and 5am. Im almost 40...what s going on?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I would like to suggest you measure the glucose levels fasting and postprandial and HbA1c because diabetes mellitus type 2 is possible.

I also want to recommend you to see thyroid hormone levels because hypothyroidism is possible.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
General & Family Physician
